Welcome to my website!  Here at DAWGONIT we are committed to raising the ideal Miniature and Toy Australian Shepherd.  We put a lot of time, consideration and planning into our dogs.  We do not breed for profit, only for the betterment of the breed, hence we will only have a litter once a year or so.  This is a hobby for me, not a business.  Any respected breeder will tell you that there is no money in breeding dogs if you are doing it right.  There is no such thing as a rich breeder unless that breeder is unethical and irresponsible.

   I have had dogs my entire life but when I found the Mini Aussies I found the perfect breed for us.  Mini Aussies are not the breed for everyone so please do the research to find the perfect breed for you.  To learn more about the Mini Aussies please click the link called 'About the Breed'.  There you will learn all about this great breed and wether it is for you.

   I would like to take this opportunity to ask if you have looked in your local Shelter or SPCA for your next best friend.  Every year thousands of dogs are destroyed in these places due to the over-population of dogs and because unethical, backyard breeders just don't care what happens to their dogs and pups as long as they get top dollar for them.  Unfortunatley, most of these dogs are there through no fault of their own.  They are loving, loyal companions that just had the misfortune of being sold by unscrupulous breeders.  I was lucky enough to find Brandy at the SPCA the day before she was due to be destroyed.  She is a Collie X and was a skinny, fearful girl who just wanted to love and be loved.  That was on Febuary 14 1996.  She is my heart dog has been my most faithful companion ever since.  We have done everything together and I know that I will never have another dog like her.

   After reading about this breed and you think it is for you then please feel free to fill out our Questionaire and read our Puppy Contract.  Most of our puppies will be sold on a Spay/Neuter Contract that will be strictly enforced.  When we do get a puppy that is considered to be Breed or Show quality and we do not wish to hold onto them we will sell that pup only to an appropriate home that can take that pup to it's full potential or may consider a Co-ownership.

   Our dogs come from good working and show lines.  The pups will all be raised under-foot in our home with our 10 year old son, 9 year old daughter and 4 year old daughter.  The pups will be kept in our bedroom for the first few weeks of their lives then will be moved to our livingroom, also known as Grand Central Station so attention and socialization is never a problem around here!  They will have good work ethics and fantastic drives, as well as be the greatest family pet.  Be sure to check out the Photo page to see our dogs in action.  Enjoy and feel free to drop us a line, we love talking about our dogs and answering any questions you may have.
